After being linked to Liverpool, Betis goalkeeper Antonio Adán says he’s not thinking of a move to Anfield. In an interview with a Spanish magazine, the 29-year-old was asked about the Reds’ interest but says he’s focused on his club for now.
“Liverpool? I’ve signed an extension recently and I did it because I feel happy and important at Betis, so it’s not something I’m thinking about,” he told Sportium (via Europa Press).
When asked if he had to move to another league, which one would it be, Adán said: “The Premier has always been a league I like and maybe in the future, but as Ive just said I don’t like looking at medium or long term.”
Liverpool’s interest in Adán was mostly commented on in February. As the club have just signed Loris Karius from Mainz, it would be very unlikely for them to go after another goalkeeper now, so the question didn’t make much sense.
Adán played 37 games for Betis last season, conceding 54 goals. His contract with the club runs until 2019.
