According to a claim in the Portuguese media, former Leeds United midfielder Bruno Ribeiro is being lined up for the vacant managers job at Moncarapachense.
Last night it was confirmed João Manuel Pinto would be leaving after club’s poor run of form, and Ribeiro looks set to replace the former Portugal international.
Record have today reported Ribeiro looks close to being appointed as the next Moncarapachense manager, as the Portuguese side look to turn their season round. The club currently lie 12th in the Serie E table, and it’s hoped the former Leeds United player’s experience in the lower leagues in Portugal will be a help.
Ribeiro has previously managed top division Setúbal, Moura, Pinhalnovense, and more recently Salgueiros.
The 42 year spent two seasons at Leeds United, after he joined the club at the same time as Elland Road favourite Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Riberio would go on to make 42 Premier League appearances for Leeds United, scoring 4 goals.
Riberio was sold to Leeds’ Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United in 1999.
