On May 7th, we covered claims from Germany that Eintracht Frankfurt are keen on signing Brighton & Hove Albion’s Pascal Gross in the summer window. It was also stated he has to take a pay cut to join them.
The Germany international has just over a year left on his deal and it’s not yet clear whether he will continue at The Amex or decide to leave the Seagulls.
That’s according to Bild, who say the Brighton player is aware of the ‘great interest’ from the Bundesliga side.
Bild say it ‘depends primarily’ on Gross whether or not he wants to return to Germany in the next window. His ‘final decision is still pending’ and it may not arrive until after the Euro 2024.
With his deal expiring in 2025, Bild say it should cost around €5m to take him away from Brighton. If he were to decide to move to Germany, the report states Gross will have to take a pay cut.
In that case, Eintracht Frankfurt are worried that other German clubs could step in to sign the midfielder, and Bild have named Borussia Dortmund as another contender.
The interested parties, as well as Brighton, will be waiting for Gross’ final decision on his future.
