As reported in England earlier on Wednesday, it appears that Jérémie Boga is now heading to Leicester City to help Brendan Rodgers’ attack.
It was claimed the Ivory Coast international was one of the players the club were looking at and talks had been opened, but L’Equipe in France now suggest it has moved very quickly.
That’s because the French newspaper claim the exciting winger ‘shouldn’t stay a second season at Atalanta’, and he should ‘quickly sign’ for Leicester.
Not only that, but it will be a permanent deal, as the 25-year-old is expected to move in a transfer ‘estimated at around €20m’.
It’s worth remembering that Boga only moved to the Bergamo side on January of this year on a loan, which was made permanent this summer for £20m.
However, he has only played for 24 minutes so far this season after struggling to have the desired impact during the second half of the last campaign.
It seems Leicester and Rodgers are convinced they can get him back to his best, which was the 2019-20 season, when he found the back of the net 11 times and assisted another four goals in 34 Serie A games for Sassuolo.
