Davy Propper has already proven himself to be a great signing for Brighton & Hove Albion and his first season in the Premier League has also impressed the media in his home country.

De Telegraaf have an article today explaining just how well Propper suits English football.

The Dutch newspaper state the midfielder’s €15m move is now seen as a bargain by Brighton and the club’s fans, and they say he’s ‘like a fish in the water’, adding: ‘This is his competition, his style and his natural habitat.’

Propper’s English is excellent, something noted by De Telegraaf, and they explain he’s been eager to talk about his ‘wonderful experiences’ at Brighton this season.

The 26 year old is quoted as saying: “Outside of the top six everyone is so well matched that every match is one of life and death. Every game is very important, at a killer pace and at a high level. That’s why I think it’s great that we start the new cycle with the Dutch team on Friday against England, the country where I can play football.”

Brighton fans will be hoping to see Propper in action for the Netherlands against England this week, as Ronald Koeman looks to get his new job off to a good start. It’s a low period for Dutch football and Propper and others now have the opportunity to turn things around.
