Should Everton still have any intention to sign Denzel Dumfries from PSV then they need to move fast.

The Dutch fullback has been linked with a move to Goodison Park for much of the summer, with claims starting before Euro 2020. Prior to the tournament it was thought the fullback could be bought for €15m, however the Dutch media made clear that after some impressive performances PSV would be looking for more.

Some had thought there was a €15m release clause, which wasn’t the case. Instead the player’s agent, Mino Raiola, had been told his client could leave if a club offered that sum. It was an asking price rather than a clause, and that asking price went up during the Euros.

Unfortunately for PSV their plan hasn’t worked out and there’s not been a great deal of new interest in Dumfries. Now TMW report it’s back to the €15m valuation, and whilst they mention Everton interest, it’s Inter Milan who are moving.

Raiola has already reached an agreement with Inter, so now it’s down to the Serie A champions to see how beneficial a deal they can reach with PSV. If Everton are still serious then they need to move quickly, the odds currently don’t look in their favour.
