Everton’s window to sign Jesper Lindstrom from Napoli may be fast approaching as various reports in Italy insist, he will be sold by Napoli this summer.
La Repubblica and Il Mattino cover the situation at the Italian club today and both insist the winger will be sold at some point soon.
First Repubblica, via Azzurrissimo, who report that there is set to be a summer exodus from Napoli as they reshape the squad for Antonio Conte.
The club are currently waiting for director of football Giovanni Manna to thin out the squad before adding to it and Lindstrom is on the list of potential exits.
The fact is, though, that the ‘time for departures’ is approaching so that the club can settle their accounts and help Conte to build a squad better suited to his needs. That means the window for Everton to make their move for Lindstrom is opening, and soon.
This is backed up by Il Mattino, via Calcio News 24, who say Napoli ‘need to sell, and quickly’ and only half of the 28 players who’ve currently travelled to a pre-season retreat will be remaining.
Lindstrom is one of those who ‘are leaving’, Il Mattino are certain of that, and Manna is now working hard and putting hours in to make the exits happen.
The feeling is that he needs to secure these sales to not only bring the squad down but also release the funds so they can ‘untangle’ their own incoming transfer desires.
The opportunity is therefore Everton then if they want it, with Lindstrom on Napoli’s sale list and the Italians seemingly keen to get things moving.
