Everton are ‘targeting’ Leeds United forward Wilfried Gnonto as they look to bolster Sean Dyche’s squad for next season.

That’s according to Gianluca Di Marzio, who says the Italian has ‘landed in the sights’ of Everton as they look to add to their forward line.

The Toffees narrowly escaped relegation on the final day of the season thanks a win over Bournemouth and are expected to be busy this summer improving the squad to ensure they’re not in a similar situation.

Add to their forward options will be key as they struggled in that department all season, with Dominic Calver-Lewin out injured for much of the campaign, Neal Maupay managing just one goal all year and the rest of the squad struggling to chip in.

Reports in England have made it clear that Sean Dyche wants to fix that problem and add pace and running to his side for next season.

Leeds United forward Gnonto would certainly fit that bill, with him impressing last season for the Whites following a move from FC Zürich.

He managed two goals and four assists in 24 games in total and it seems Everton were impressed and are now ready to move for him.

Whether Leeds will sanction a deal remains to be seen and Di Marzio makes no mention of an asking price or what the Toffees can afford to spend this summer.

Relations between the two clubs are not great, though, and if Everton are determined to secure the Italian it’s sure to be a tough ask to get him out of Elland Road.
