On July 3rd, journalist Sacha Tavolieri reported Everton have tabled a €40m bid to sign UD Almería star El Bilal Touré in the summer window.
A day later, Almería CEO Mohamed El Assy revealed the Toffees are one of three clubs who have made an offer for the striker. He didn’t reveal the details of the other two teams but did mention they are from Italy.
Atalanta could be the club to provide a tough competition to Everton in the chase for the 21-year-old, according to L’Equipe.
It’s claimed the Mali international is getting closer to the Serie A side, who are currently a step ahead of other clubs, ‘especially Everton’. The report adds Gian Piero Gasperini’s side are ready to offer as much as €20m to acquire the player’s signature.
Despite this, the Merseyside club aren’t giving up their pursuit of Touré. L’Equipe explain that Everton ‘still hope to convince’ the attacker to move to Goodison Park in this window.
The Malian scored seven goals and registered two assists from 25 games last season.
