Everton were one of the clubs who had scouts in the north of Portugal watching Porto’s clash against Liverpool last night.
The Toffees saw their Merseyside rivals getting a huge 4-1 away win, which sent them through to the Champions League semifinals.
It’s newspaper A Bola who reports the scouting mission, although they don’t say who Everton were keeping an eye on.
It’s safe to say that Marco Silva’s side don’t need to fly to Portugal to watch Liverpool, and they don’t play the Reds again this season, so they were certainly scouting someone from Porto.
The Dragons did the best they could, and offered some danger to the Reds, until Sadio Mane scored the opener and ended the home side’s hopes.
Midfielder Corona, who was doubtful for the match, ended up being Porto’s best player. Defender Éder Militão, who scored a goal, midfielder Hector Herrera and winger Yacine Brahimi had a decent match as well.
Everton have been linked to Brahimi for a while now. Since his contract with the Dragons expires at the end of the season, he’s becoming a free agent and the Toffees are presented as one of the possibilities.
Brahimi has 12 goals and eight assists this season, and now we wonder if his performance from last night has convinced Everton to make an attempt for him in the summer.
