On November 29th, Sport reported Barcelona’s Ramon Planes travelled to France to watch Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele in action against Manchester City.
Journalist Miguel Rico has another update on the 21-year-old in today’s edition of Mundo Deportivo as he claims that Everton are also after the France international, something which started in the English media.
He mentions the Merseyside club are the side with ‘maximum interest’ in the former Amiens man.
Rico further goes on to suggest that any approach from the Premier League outfit in signing the player will see them spend around €70m.
The Toffees’ interest in the Ligue 1 star will not come as a good news for the Spanish champions, not just because they are also looking at the midfielder, but also because an approach from Everton for the Lyon player could bring an end to Andre Gomes’ time at Goodison Park.
Gomes is on a season-long loan deal at Everton from Barcelona and Ndombele’s arrival will make it difficult for the English club to buy the Portuguese midfielder.
Despite Everton’s ‘maximum interest’ in the France international, it should be seen whether Marco Silva’s side are ready to pay €70m to sign him.
Even if they are, will Ndombele join Everton without Champions League football, especially when he has several Champions League clubs like Barcelona, Juventus and Tottenham after him.
