Fanatik report Memphis Depay is set to reject a chance to join Fenerbahce in January, with Ronald Koeman’s Everton a likelier destination.
Fenerbahçe president Aziz Yildirim has reportedly told Dick Advocaat their pursuit of Memphis Depay is coming to an end because officials at the Turkish club are unable to convince the Manchester United winger to work under the Dutchman again.
Fanatik claim Everton’s interest has certainly turned Depay’s head, and that he wants to stay in the Premier League. Fenerbahçe were hoping Depay’s past working experience with Advocaat would help them win the chase, but that doesn’t look to have worked.
Aziz Yildirim has reportedly told Advocaat not to worry as the club will find him a better player than Depay.
Fenerbahçe fans were hoping Depay could be the new hero for them, but it seems the 22-year old will decide to stay in England with Everton looking to be in pole position for the player.
Everton manager Ronald Koeman wants to bring in a winger this month after summer signing Yannick Bolasie was ruled out for the foreseeable future with a knee injury.
