First linked with Mauricio Lemos back in March, Everton are still being linked with the Uruguayan defender in some shape or form.

Having since bolstered their defence with Michael Keane, the Toffees haven’t been seriously mentioned next to the 21-year-old for around a month, but Mundo Deportivo decided to change that on Thursday.

Looking at the Las Palmas star’s situation and Inter’s interest in acquiring his services, the Catalan newspaper felt the need to include Everton in the conversation as a reminder they are capable of providing competition should they wish to do so.

With a release clause of €30m in his contract with the La Liga side, Lemos is an easy target for a lot of Premier League sides, even if none seem all that interested in buying him.

Everton were said to have made a bid, which Las Palmas never accepted, and that was the last we heard of the matter, with a reported €10m gap between the two sides.

It seems the Toffees will be a part of this until he gets sold to another club or the transfer window shuts.
