Earlier today, Sport reported that West Ham United are ‘best positioned’ to complete the signing of Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes.
Now, the same publication claims Everton have joined the race for the Portuguese international, who is keen on leaving Camp Nou. The Merseyside club have registered an interest in the former Benfican man and they, along with the Hammers are negotiating with the La Liga winners and Gomes’ agent in the ‘last hours’.
He suffered an injury while on pre-season tour and is currently recovering on the sidelines. The 25-year-old remains calm with his current situation as he is ‘waiting for news’ from his employer.
The first report just mentions the Toffees are interested in the player, who is no longer involved in Ernesto Valverde’s plans. There is no mention of a bid being made or if Everton would be interested in taking him on loan with/without a view to buy.
However, things move quickly in the transfer window, and Mundo Deportivo are now reporting that both Yerry Mina and the Portuguese midfielder are undergoing medicals ahead of their potential transfers, with the Colombian likely to be a full transfer, while his teammate will been via a loan.
