Thomas Meunier has caused some fuss this week with his comments about a potential move away from PSG.
The Belgium fullback wasn’t afraid to namedrop clubs as he explained: “I could aim at a club like Everton, Valencia or Dortmund. Michy Batshuayi did really well going there, the fun is playing football, and that’s the only thing I miss right now.”
It sounded like a come-and-get-me-plea to half of Europe, and got some Everton fans excited. That’s reasonable, Meunier is a very good player and he made it publicly clear he’d consider a move to the club.
But Belgium’s DH reckon the words were for potentially interested clubs, but rather for Thomas Tuchel, who is set to take over at PSG.
It’s explained Meunier knows the weight of what he says and will have planned everything to send a message to Tuchel that he’s not going to be happy as a bit-part player. DH believe it may all work out well, with Tuchel trying to sign the right back for Borussia Dortmund previously.
Maybe one for Everton fans to scratch off the list, at least until it’s known whether Tuchel will go for Meunier or please PSG’s Brazilian contingent and pick Dani Alves.
