On Tuesday we brought claims from Spain that Victor Orta is a serious candidate to take a sports direction role at Deportivo La Coruna.

The club are close to relegation from Spain’s top flight and would be considering the Leeds United man as part of a wider plan to restructure their efforts ahead of the coming seasons.

Orta has had a mixed time at Leeds United and the reaction from many fans to a potential exit was very positive indeed. Despite Yorkshire denials, there’s insistence in Spain there’s something in this, with talks said to have started in mid-March.

It’s been presented as Deportivo approaching Orta, and now he’ll have to consider whether he fancies a Leeds United exit, and take the talks forward or otherwise.

El Gol Digital, admittedly not the best source for Depor in Spain, have reiterated some of the claims, and add the Spanish club have moved on to Orta after failing to agree deals with others.

Orta could take manager Fran Escribá to Depor with him to deport, according to the update, having worked with the manager at Elche.
