Everton have been in contact with Torino over defender Gleison Bremer as his list of suitors continues to grow.
That’s according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, who say the Toffees have also sent ‘observers’ to watch over the highly-rated defender.
The centre-back has established himself as one of the best defenders in Europe this season with a series of impressive performances for Torino in Serie A.
He currently tops the stats in a number of areas, and his performances have not gone unnoticed, with a list of clubs thought to be keen on them.
Gazzetta say the ‘number of suitors is growing’, with Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund big fans. There have also been phone calls from the Premier League, where Arsenal, Leicester, Everton and Newcastle are fans.
This is not the first time any of these have been linked, particularly Everton, who were thought to be fans before Bremer’s explosion when Carlo Ancelotti was in charge.
In fact, those valuations and Bremer’s performances means his value is ‘certainly flying’, and that would be a problem for Everton, given the state of their finances.
Of course, they’re likely to sell players in the summer to raise funds, but even if they do that, it’s hard to see them securing Bremer, who will have much more attractive options available to him.
It should be pointed out that while Gazzetta have Bremer’s price at €50m, it was recently stated he had an agreement with Torino to leave for €25m if he wants to.
That would be much more affordable for Everton, but even then, they’d have to pull off a major trick to beat the competition to the Brazilian centre-back.
