John Obi Mikel hasn’t made a single appearance under Antonio Conte, and is expected to leave the club in January.
The 29-year-old has another six months left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, and that makes it easier for interested clubs to strike a deal with Chelsea.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport on Monday, Inter Milan are keen on the services of the Nigerian midfielder. The Serie A club are hoping to sign a midfielder in January, and Gazzetta believe Mikel could be the ‘easiest solution’ for them.
It’s been reported Chelsea are ready to allow Mikel to leave on a ‘free loan’, which could then become permanent when Mikel’s contract ends in the summer.
There’d be no obligation for for Inter, and it’s a risk free January signing for the Italian club.
Mikel has also been linked with a move to Marseille, and it appears he could have a few options on his table.
