Galatasaray are still interested in Liverpool’s defender Mamadou Sakho, reports AmkSpor.
The ‘Cim-Bom’ want to sign two central defenders in the January window and Liverpool’s Frenchman emerged as a leading candidate but Sakho’s preference to stay in England is making things a little complicated.
Galatasaray will offer Liverpool €1m to loan him for 6 months but AmkSpor suggests Liverpool are wanting to sell Sakho permanently.
The 26-year old has no future at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp and he has yet to play for his side in the Premier League this season. AmkSpor say Galatasaray are now waiting for Liverpool’s answer regarding Sakho and if the answer is negative the club will turn their attention to other targets such as Ahmet Çalık and Kaan Ayhan.
Sakho is under contract with Liverpool until 2020 but his antics have convinced Klopp that he’s not going to complete his contract at Liverpool. Sakho rejected a chance to join another Turkish side, Besiktas, last summer.
The former Paris Saint Germain captain has to play regularly at a top level in order to regain his place in the French national squad.
