Earlier today we covered claims from La Voz de Galicia that Manchester City are set to use a €12m buyback clause and take Angeliño from PSV.
The 22 year old is from Galicia so it seemed pretty clear they were getting their information from a source close to the player.
Claims and responses have now appeared in the Netherlands.
De Telegraaf say Angeliño is on the verge of a ‘dream transfer’, being his return to Pep Guardiola’s side. The Dutch newspaper say ‘sources around the English club’ have confirmed this.
Despite that, they say the situation ‘is not yet definitive’.
Meanwhile, Eindhoven Dagblad sound like they don’t want it to be true. They say there’s ‘plenty of interest’ but the player’s future is still ‘unclear’.
It’s stated ‘reliable sources’ have said the La Voz de Galicia report about a Manchester City return is ‘speculative’.
That’s at least a little unfair. La Voz don’t throw around rumours like confetti, and this clearly isn’t something they’ve plucked from thin air. Someone has told them this is happening, whether it does or doesn’t.
