All of the Italian sporting media’s eyes were today at Inter Milan’s offices, where agent Federeico Pastorello has been spotted.
Several local outlets have been reporting that the representative was set to negotiate the transfer of Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United.
When leaving the building, Pastorello has been surrounded by journalists, and had no problem answering the questions. He’s practically confirmed that the negotiations for Lukaku are on.
First asked if the arrival of Lukaku is a dream that can come true, Pastorello said (via FC Inter News): “It’s a dream, difficult to achieve as such, but I believe there is nothing impossible.”
Then he was asked if Inter Milan are seriously trying to sign the Belgian star: “Yes, he publicly expressed his plans, his desires, then we’ll see.”
According to claims from TuttoMercatoWeb earlier today, the aim of the meeting was to find an agreement on the transfer fee, with Manchester United asking for €85m while the Italians feel €65m is a reasonable price.
Even if the Premier League club reduce the price, there’s still the issue of Inter getting the money they need together.
Pastorello’s chat with the Italian press can be watched below.
