That’s according to AS, who say that the forward is ‘determined to move’ and super-agent Jorge Mendes is ‘knocking on the necessary doors’ to make a deal happen in January.
The ‘auction is open’ for the forward’s signature and all roads point to England being his destination at this moment in time.
Manchester United have been ‘courting him’ for a long time. The 23-year-old is ‘very popular’ at Old Trafford and Atlético received a ‘dizzying offer’ of €130m for him in the summer.
That situation has changed in recent months as the player’s relationship with Diego Simeone has deteriorated and Atlético are now ‘willing to listen’ to offer in excess of €100m.
Things have also changed at Manchester United, where Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure has freed up a ‘significant salary’ and allowed them to do business in January.
They’ve been watching the forward at the World Cup, which has been a ‘showcase’ for Felix, who has put in some notable performances despite Portugal ultimately disappointing.
