Last summer, Jasper Cillessen was linked with a move away from Barcelona.

We covered reports discussing about interest from several Premier League clubs and the La Liga winners were willing to allow the goalkeeper leave the club, if they had received an offer of €30m.

Since making a switch to Camp Nou from Ajax in 2016, the Netherlands international has been the second choice goalkeeper behind Marc-André ter Stegen.

Mundo Deportivo have a short report on the custodian in the last page of today’s edition of the newspaper.

Even though the 29-year-old is not featuring regularly for Ernesto Valverde’s side, the Spanish champions still ‘bet’ on him. Journalist Miguel Rico claims it is ‘difficult to find an alternate’ for Cillessen, who has always impressed when he has been given an opportunity.

Rico claims that if the Dutchman was at another club, he would have been a starter and had regular minutes.

As of now, Barca are not ready to accept any offers for the stopper and will only consider sale if interested clubs can meet his €60m release clause, which has been communicated to Cillessen.
