Rangers are set to pay 70% of Aaron Ramsey’s wages in the loan deal bringing him to the club from Juventus.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say the Welshman ‘seems to have made the final decision’ and chosen Rangers as his next club.
Reports over the last 24 hours have seen Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side make a surprise move for Ramsey, battling Premier League competition for his signature.
Juventus are keen to get rid of the midfielder before the window shuts, with them desperately needing his wages off the books to fund their own moves.
A move to the Premier League had looked likely, but Rangers have made a late push for his signature, and numerous reports in Italy today have made it clear a move was on the cards.
So far, there has been no information on the make-up of the agreement, but CM now provide that, stating that Ramsey will arrive at Rangers on loan.
The deal will include a ‘right of redemption’, the figure is not mentioned, while Juventus will be paying 30% of his wages during the loan deal. Or, conversely, Rangers will be paying 70% of his wages during his time at Ibrox.
This is somewhat backed up by Tuttomercatoweb and Gianluca di Marzio. The former Ramsey has ‘accepted the proposal’ from Rangers in the last few hours and will be arriving on loan with a right to buy tagged onto it.
They also say Juventus will be contributing to some of his wages to help facilitate the move to Ibrox but don’t back up the figure provided by Calciomercato at this point.
Di Marzio, meanwhile, backs up a loan deal with a right to buy included and adds that Ramsey’s agent is currently in Scotland to finalise the deal.
It seems a deal is imminent, then, and Van Bronckhorst is set to seal a deadline day replacement for the injured Ianis Hagi.
