According to a claim in the Swedish media, Derby County are closing on summer target Jacob Widell Zetterström.

The FC Djurgården goalkeeper has recently been linked with a move to the Championship club following reports last week of an offer being tabled by the Rams.

Expressen have reported on the latest developments regarding Derby County’s pursuit of the Swede, and they say the English have reached an agreement to sigh him.

It’s claimed a transfer fee of £1.4m has been agreed after their sporting director Bosse Andersson confirmed they were in transfer talks over the 26-year-old.

“I can confirm that we are negotiating with Derby,” said the Djurgården director.

Only last week we covered reports from Sweden that Derby County had an offer rejected by his club. In recent seasons Zetterström has impressed in the Allsvenskan, leading to a number of clubs monitoring him.

Zetterström has made 14 league appearances for his club this season and is contracted to Djurgården until June 2025. The Stockholm born keeper made his debut for Sweden last year.
