Saturday saw West Ham linked with yet another player, as Il Tempo claimed the Hammers joined the race to sign Roma’s Maxime Gonalons.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side were thrown into the mix with both Crystal Palace and Everton, who were claimed to have made a €10m bid for the defensive midfielder.
Despite this, the 29-year-old had yet to make up his mind, and now he apparently has a third offer to mull over, as West Ham have apparently made a move (we’re guessing on Sunday?).
This is what the same Il Tempo claim on Monday, stating Gonalons is ‘reflecting’ on the Hammers’ proposal, as Roma look around Europe to try and find someone to supersede him.
Steven Nzonzi is their number one target in that department, but before anything happens, they’ll need to get rid of the former Lyon captain, but they don’t seem in a rush to force him out.
They know he doesn’t have a lot of time to make his mind up, especially if the offers keep coming in.
An answer will need to be given by Thursday, after which Roma will know exactly whether they can try and sign Nzonzi with 22 days left in their transfer window.
