Belgian club Royal Antwerp are interested in signing Watford striker Obbi Oulare on a permanent transfer, sources have told Sport Witness.

The Hornets signed the 22-year-old from Club Brugge in 2015 and made three appearances across all competitions in his debut season. Lack of playing time with the English club saw him go out on loan at Zulte Waregem, Willem II and Antwerp in the last two seasons.

In 16 appearances, he managed to score four goals for László Bölöni’s side last season and he now wants to extend his stay with them.

The Belgium-born attacker’s contract at the Vicarage Road runs down in 2021. According to the information, Oulare wants to leave his current employer as he is ‘crazy’ about the idea of joining the Jupiler Pro League on a permanent deal as Javi Gracia’s side and Antwerp are in talks for the striker.

It is unlikely the player will have any future with the Premier League outfit, having spent the majority of the last three years out on loan. A return to Belgium for the striker should could be the best solution for all parties involved.
