Bayern Munich centre back Niklas Süle has already received an offer from Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window.
That’s according to Abendzeitung, who say a move away from the German giants has not been completely ruled out.
They explain that Bayern’s move for Reading full-back Omar Richards, which has already been finalised after the youngster signed a deal until 2025 earlier this week, is set to have ramifications at the Allianz.
He will arrive at the club as a back up for Alphonso Davies, and that will mean Lucas Hernández moving inside to play at centre back as a replacement for David Alaba.
The plan is to partner him with Dayot Upamecano, who is arriving from RB Leipzig this summer, and that will see Süle pushed down the pecking order.
As a result, and because his contract expires in 2022, his future is ‘more open than ever’, with Karl-Heinz Rummenigge having made it clear a new deal can only be signed under certain conditions.
Thus, a possible sale is ‘by no means ruled out’ at this point, and according to Abendzeitung’s information, he has received several ‘attractive inquiries’ from clubs outside of Germany.
One of those are Chelsea, coached by compatriot Thomas Tuchel of course, who are believed to be on the hunt for a new centre back this summer.
They have been linked to Süle over the past few months, with it claimed in February that Tuchel was ‘vying intensely’ for his signature.
That seems to have now progressed into an actual offer, although it remains to be seen if they approach Bayern to make it happen.
