Crystal Palace’s interest in the Italian market is highlighted in a story from website Tutto Mercato Web today.
A short report says the Premier League side are keeping an eye on two specific players from Serie A: Sampdoria’s Mikkel Damsgaard and Sassuolo’s Filip Djuricic.
These are said to be the ‘new names’ Crystal Palace have in their agenda, as they’ve both been target by intermediaries.
However, there are no big details on any approaches made by the London side, or even how much the club would be looking to spend on the duo.
Damsgaard has just landed in Italy. The winger joined Sampdoria in a €6.5m move from Nordsjaelland last summer, and his first few months in Serie A were apparently enough to impress other European sides. According to Tutto Mercato Web, AC Milan and several Premier League sides are interested in him as well.
Djuriric seems to be a different profile, since the 29-year-old has been featuring in several European leagues for years now, including a short stop in England, where he played for Southampton. With five goals and two assists for Sassuolo this season, he’s currently rated by Transfermarkt at €10m.
