Reports from the Italian media today details the battle for Tottenham Hotspur defender Joseph Tanganga.
Even though it’s Roma who had on Monday a meeting with the player’s agent Roberto De Fanti, website CalcioMercato.it points out that the Giallorossi aren’t alone in the race for him, as Milan want the signing as well.
For now, it’s impossible to say if any of the Serie A sides have been leading the race, as they both seem to be standing on the same position.
Milan and Roma both offered Tottenham a loan with the right to buy at ‘just over €20m’, but that’s not Spurs’ first choice, as they’d rather guarantee the sale with an obligation to buy.
It’s said the parties have the ‘awareness’ that the ‘negotiation can be unblocked’ in the final days of the transfer window, and that could mean either Spurs accepting what’s already on the table or including a clause to make the move permanent that will depend on his number of appearances.
CalcioMercato.it do also point out that Tottenham director Fabio Paratici ‘bites the brake a little’ following Clement Lenglet’s injury, but that won’t stop the Italian clubs of working on Tanganga’s signing.
