There appears to have been some confusion regarding what Gerard Romero reported on his Jijantes show regarding Barcelona’s potential move for Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva.

The midfielder has been a long-time target of the La Liga side, but any deal has, so far, been blocked by the Frenkie de Jong saga.

Reports then emerged claiming that Romero had stated an agreement had been reached for the player’s transfer, but the journalist then took it upon himself to clarify the situation.

He took to Twitter to explain that while they did discuss the Manchester City player’s future on his show, ‘at no point’ did he say an agreement had been reached.

Romero made it clear that Barcelona ‘plan the arrival’ of the Manchester City star for a figure of between €50-60m, and there is even a ‘scheduled appointment to look for a house in the next few days’ from the player’s end.

That suggests there is optimism, but until the two sides do find that agreement, it’s all a bit futile.
