Despite the deal taking Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Chelsea seemingly edging closer to completion, Chelsea don’t appear done on the transfer market.

Losing both Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner without finding a replacement to date has been costly in the early Premier League fixtures, as Chelsea find themselves 12th, with four points from a possible nine on the board.

Their 3-0 loss at the hands of Leeds at the weekend was an example of them needing more firepower up front, and that’s why a deal for Aubameyang is being negotiated.

However, there has also been talk of a move for Rafael Leao in the final days of the transfer window, but Calciomercato.it believe that will take a lot of money to pull off.

Despite a potential bid of €95m being touted, it will take more than that as Milan are ‘willing to retain the Portuguese champions and therefore enforce the €150m release clause’.

To date, there have also ‘been no official offers or negotiations’ with Chelsea regarding the forward.

Regarding a potential renewal for the player in Milan, however, there is ‘no news’, with the ‘draft agreement reach in winter no longer valid’, which could help the Blues in the long-term.

As for the short-term, though, it seems a very difficult deal for Todd Boehly to pull off with Leao tied to the Serie A side until 2024.
