While it is easy to have forgotten it, Chelsea’s Tiemoue Bakayoko is currently on loan at Milan, and has been for nearly a year and a half.
If last season was one of frustrations for the French midfielder, where he struggled to find a space in Stefano Pioli’s side, the current campaign has been disastrous.
The Chelsea loanee, who is technically meant to be there for two years, has yet to step on an official football pitch, and that’s why Milan are trying to find a way out for him.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who explain the Serie A side are ‘working on the market in search of a project’ for the France international.
This would therefore offer them and the player ‘a way out of the current agreement’, but they must take Chelsea into account in all this, since they initially struck a deal with them.
The Blues have many players Milan like, such as Armando Broja or Hakim Ziyech, and that’s why ‘ruining relationships’ just to get rid of Bakayoko doesn’t make a lot of sense.
Thus, the likes of Paolo Maldini and Federico Massara ‘will have to try to please everyone’, meaning the French midfielder, Chelsea, Milan and also Pioli.
It’s worth recalling that Milan initially spent €500k to get the player on loan for two years, which included a €15m purchase clause that would become automatic if the player made 15 appearances of at least 45 minutes over that two year period.
He’s currently on seven.
