Benfica have opened negotiations with Wolverhampton Wanderers about a deal for Rúben Vinagre, which could see Carlos Vinícius head the other way.
That’s according to Correio da Manha, who back up claims elsewhere in Portugal that Vinícius could end up at Molineux.
Earlier today, we covered a report from Record that stated Vinícius is back in Portugal after his loan spell at Tottenham came to an end.
Benfica don’t want him, though, and so they are scouring the market to find a new club for him, which is where Wolves come into it.
They were labelled a ‘viable’ option for the striker, and Correio back that up before going one further and saying that talks are already underway.
They say that Benfica have ‘already started negotiations’ with Wolves to bring in Vinagre, who has spent the season on loan with Famalicão.
To get a deal over the line, they are willing to include Vinícius as part of the deal and are ‘considering loaning’ him out.
The club feel that could hand them the advantage over rivals Sporting, who are also interested in signing Vinagre, although it will all ultimately rest with Wolves.
