Since the turn of the new year, the future if Victor Kristiansen, contracted to Leicester City but currently on loan at Bologna, has been of great interest to the Italian media.
This is because he has started to really shine under Thiago Motta in Serie A, to the point where the club appear to be strongly considering signing him for the pre-agreed €15m option to buy in his contract.
The idea of doing so and giving Leicester their money was something tough to consider in the first half of the campaign, but Corriere dello Sport on Wednesday make it clear that is changing.
Motta is said to really appreciate what the Dane has shown over the past couple of months, and his performances, alongside his effort and attitude, are ‘leading Bologna to evaluate his purchase’.
The only aspect that is missing from his overall game is his ability to find the back of the net, and both he and Motta know this, which is why it is a ‘little box’ the Leicester loanee would like to tick going forward.
Having consolidated the defensive aspect of his game, the manager now wants to see a ‘great contribution in attack’, with the next game against Inter Milan the perfect time to showcase both sides.
It’s a situation Leicester will be monitoring closely, as they would surely be pleased to receive an extra €15m in their coffers, especially for a player who never seemed to fully agree with what Enzo Maresca wanted from him.
