Paul Pogba was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer, but Manchester United were successful in retaining the midfielder.
His brother Mathias Pogba has been regularly speaking to the Spanish press about the failed move and also revealed the France international has already spoken to a few of Los Blancos stars.
Mathias is not the only one to talk about the La Liga giants’ failure to complete the 26-year-old’s signing.
Real Madrid Florentino Pérez has also been speaking about the Red Devils star this week.
“For [Bayern Munich’s Robert] Lewandowski we have also tried for several years and they do not sell it to us. It has been the same case as with Pogba,” AS quoted Pérez as saying.
The Spanish side are still keen on signing the World Cup winner, but there’s no illusion over how difficult it will be. Pogba returned to Old Trafford from Juventus in 2016, and Real Madrid wanted him them.
Whilst there’s been suggestions, in the wilder sections of the rumour mill, that an effort will be made in January, it’s likely Madrid would wait until next summer before testing the ground again with Manchester United.
