Earlier this week, journalist César Luis Merlo stated Manchester City want to renew Julián Álvarez’s contract but he hasn’t agreed to it.
Merlo also explained the striker wants to leave in the summer if he were to not have more prominence at the Etihad.
Erling Haaland is ahead of the 23-year-old to lead Manchester City’s attack and it’s unlikely to change when he’s available for selection.
There is a possibility for Álvarez to change clubs in the next window and Inter Milan could be an option for him.
Inter will think about him if Romelu Lukaku were to not continue at the club, as the Belgian is on loan from Chelsea.
The World Cup winner isn’t happy with his situation and has made it clear to Manchester City about his intention of going elsewhere. It’s claimed Pep Guardiola’s side are open to letting him leave on loan in the summer.
Álvarez earns €3m net per year and this could facilitate Inter to carry out his operation. The report makes it clear that for now, the player is ‘only and only an idea’ for the Italian club.
A move to Inter could see Álvarez have a prominent role, provided Lukaku and Lautaro Martínez aren’t at the club next season.
