After many, many Don Balon articles suggesting that Real Madrid could end up making a huge bid for Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah in the summer, we now have Le10 Sport suggesting Paris Saint-Germain are ‘thinking’ about joining their Spanish counterparts.

In fact, the French magazine go as far as saying the Ligue 1 champions have approached the player’s entourage to let him know they are interested.

While there has been no other movement from their part, Le10 believe that within the Liverpool star’s inner circle, the possibility that Paris Saint-Germain could launch an offensive by submitting a ‘very big offer’ is taken seriously.

There’s a belief the Egypt international could be ‘wrenched’ from Anfield for somewhere in between €100-200m, and the one way the club could pull it off is if they sold Neymar in the first place.

Last summer’s spending has thrown Paris Saint-Germain in some hot water with Financial Fair Play, and there’s a real fear sanctions, such as a transfer ban, could be implemented when the verdict drops in June following an investigation.

In order to avoid that, the easiest solution would be to sell their Brazilian superstar for a profit after just one season to the highest bidder.

They would then use some of that cash to settle their accounts, with the rest going to Liverpool for Salah.

It makes sense, even if it will most likely never happen.

Then again, that’s what many people said about Neymar’s transfer to Paris Saint-Germain in the first place.
