Earlier this week, the Turkish media claimed that Galatasaray were struggling to match Manchester United’s request for the sale of Fred.

It was said the Istanbul club put €5m on the table, but that wasn’t enough for the Red Devils to accept it.

Amid claims that Galatasaray decided to increase their bid, we now see an update coming from Gazete Vatan.

It’s said the Turkish side offered €6m for the transfer, and the Red Devils’ demands are of €9m. The offer was then raised to 7m.

There is now this €2m gap between the clubs, and Galatasaray are also waiting for a response from Fred himself, who has one year left in his contract with Manchester United. It’s said they already ‘contacted’ him regarding the move.

It turns out that the Brazilian isn’t the only Manchester United player the Istanbul side are interested in.

It’s claimed they’d also like to sign Scott McTominay, Donny van de Beek and Anthony Elanga, who together, are valued at Transfermarkt at €76m.

For now, though, it seems they are only actually moving for Fred, especially considering the numerous reports emerging today that have been saying the young Swede is on his way to Nottingham Forest.
