Over the past few months, the Spanish media have regularly discussed Tottenham Hotspur’s Giovani Lo Celso as an option for Real Betis next season.
On June 25th, Real Betis sporting director Manu Fajardo addressed these claims and insisted there’s a “remote” chance for his side to sign the 28-year-old.
AS claim the La Liga side’s desire to sign the Tottenham player could go from remote to real only if one condition is fulfilled.
Real Betis could consider signing the midfielder only if they were to sell Nabil Fekir this summer.
It’s claimed Fekir is courted by Saudi Arabian clubs, and Manuel Pellegrini’s side are waiting to receive a rich offer for the star. He’s currently the club’s top earner and his exit will help them significantly lower the wage bill.
Therefore, Real Betis are looking to get rid of the Frenchman and the money raised from his sale is likely needed to sign the Spurs man.
AS indicate there won’t be any immediate movents around Fekir’s future, and therefore, Lo Celso has to be patient if he wants to return to Real Betis.
