Romelu Lukaku will have to return to Chelsea after his season-long loan spell at AS Roma.

The Belgium international has been able to showcase his qualities in Italy this season, scoring 18 goals and registering four assists from 37 games for the Giallorossi.

His future may have to be clarified, if Mauricio Pochettino continues at Chelsea beyond this season. If Lukaku were to change clubs again in the summer, he’ll not lack options and Fenerbahçe are now added to the list

This surprise claim is made by Fotomaç, and they further explain the Turkish club’s plan to try and sign the 30-year-old in the summer.

Edin Džeko, who turned 38 years of age earlier this month, has led the Yellow Canaries’ attack this season, and has impressed with 22 goals and nine assists. Even though his deal lasts until 2025, the report states the Bosnian could leave in the next window.

Therefore, Fenerbahçe are looking at options to replace Džeko and have now identified the Chelsea owned player as a target. It’s said their ‘goal’ is to sign Lukaku on a loan deal with an option to buy.

Fotomaç don’t mention if the Blues and/or Lukaku are open to this operation, but it’s certain Chelsea would prefer a permanent exit so their failed Romelu return can finally come to an end.
