Following reports on Friday saying Roberto Firmino told Jurgen Klopp he wants to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, it’s natural that many people now wonder where the 31-year-old will play next.

Italian clubs had already been linked to the striker in the past, and those rumours are back in the headlines, with a story from Calcio Mercato.

The outlet recalls that Inter Milan and Juventus had both tried to sign Firmino from Liverpool in the past, and with this exit from Anfield, it’s said ‘such a market opportunity rarely happens’.

The Brazilian is leaving the Reds at the end of his contract, theoretically moving for free, but that still doesn’t mean that signing him will be cheap. That’s because he earns over €9m per year and is unlikely to accept a big pay cut.

Still, Calcio Mercato say Italian clubs are in the race to land him, with Inter Milan ‘dreaming’ of having him in their squad soon.

So as Firmino enjoys his final months at Liverpool, clubs are set to queue up and try to catch him.
