Long touted for an exit this summer, Hakim Ziyech never found himself a new club, and eventually stayed at Chelsea.

Clearly nothing more than a rotation option for Thomas Tuchel, there was maybe hope that the Morocco international could get some more game time under Graham Potter, but that doesn’t appear to be the case from the first two matches the manager has been in charge of.

The 29-year-old played just eight minutes in the 1-1 draw against RB Salzburg and failed to come off the bench in the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, meaning January looks like the next chance for him to move away from Chelsea.

One of the clubs reportedly interested in the summer were Milan, with Tuttosport claiming the Serie A side ‘dreamed of his arrival in Milanello as a pair with Charles De Ketelaere’.

However, that never happened for multiple reasons, including financial ones, but the newspaper add ‘it isn’t excluded’ that the Italians could ‘make a new attempt in January’ for the Chelsea outcast.

One of the reasons for that is that, despite the decision from Todd Boehly to sack Tuchel and appoint Potter, Ziyech still isn’t playing.

Since his arrival from Ajax, back when Frank Lampard was in charge, the forward has made 87 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, scoring 14 goals and assisting another 10.
