Marc Roca returned to Spain last summer when Leeds United let him join Real Betis on a loan deal.
On December 27th, Diario de Sevilla reported the midfielder’s future beyond this season remains unclear even though he would be keen to continue at the La Liga side.
Marca now state Real Betis sporting director Ramón Planes has several cases to resolve and that includes the Leeds owned player.
The Spaniard has scored four goals and registered two assists from 25 games this season and has become one of the key figures under Manuel Pellegrini’s orders.
Planes’ objective is to retain the former Bayern Munich man for next season but the Whites will be key.
It’s said Roca can continue at the Andalusian club on loan for the 2024/25 season if the Championship side fail to return to the top flight. They are currently fourth in the table, trailing second placed Ipswich Town by seven points.
This would allow Pellegrini’s side to make an effort to buy the Leeds man in the summer of 2025, when he will have a year left on his deal at Elland Road.
If Leeds were to get promoted to the Premier League, Marca state Real Betis will have to ‘dig deep into their pockets’ to try to sign Roca next summer. They seem to be concerned the Whites’ demands may be difficult for them to meet.
