Italian website Calcio Mercato today brings an interesting take on Inter Milan’s quest for a midfielder in the January transfer window.
The outlet writes that the Nerazzurri had been following Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka, as they had already opened talks for his transfer in the summer, and approved his arrival for the next market.
However, the player doesn’t seem very keen on moving on a loan spell, and that makes Inter Milan look for another option, which is Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante.
There are currently ‘deep’ talks with the Frenchman’s entourage, and they will wait to see the price that Chelsea will demand for a transfer.
Even though a swap for Christian Eriksen is considered for the signing of Xhaka, Calcio Mercato makes it sound like the operation for Kante would be a normal transfer.
The Chelsea midfielder has also been linked to Paris Saint Germain in the past few days, so it sounds like the Blues may soon have interesting offers for him on their table.
