Sheffield United’s Ismaila Coulibaly has been on loan at Swedish side AIK Fotboll since the start of this year.

The temporary deal runs until July 31st and Fotboll Direkt now report AIK have decided not to extend the 23-year-old’s stay at the club.

AIK have released a statement on their official website stating that the midfielder will leave the club when his deal expires later today.

The Mali international clocked in 843 minutes from 13 matches in all competitions for the Swedish club.

Back in May, the Sheffield United player had publicly expressed his desire to continue at AIK beyond this month. That won’t happen and Coulibaly will have to return to the Championship side.

Chris Wilder and the Blades will have to make a decision on whether to include Coulibaly in their plans for next season or send him elsewhere, either on loan or a permanent transfer.

Two weeks ago, Gazet van Antwerpen reported his former club, Beerschot, are keen on signing him this summer. It was also explained that Coulibaly really wants to go back to the Belgian club.
