AS Roma’s interest in Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz is back being reported on by the Italian media
This time it’s Tutto Mercato Web who feature a story claiming José Mourinho ‘likes’ the player, having been following him for over a year.
The report actually brings good news for Roma, as they claim that despite the €30m valuation the player had last year, his price was now dropped to €20m.
Still, TMW points out ‘there is no negotiation’ between the Giallorossi and Aston Villa, so it feels like the chase is still in the early stages for now.
The story also claims that Chelsea had been pursuing in the midfielder ‘in recent months’. They refer to their interest in the past, claiming that was ‘before the change of ownership’, so there doesn’t seem to be a lot of certainty about an attempt from the Blues.
Roma’s interest in Douglas Luiz has been reported since the last summer, with several reports coming out this year as well, so an offer this year should be no surprise at all.
Quite why they believe €20m would be enough isn’t fully explained.
