Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has reportedly cancelled the player’s medical for a Manchester United move.
Pogba and Raiola were both in Miami, and as Manchester United and Juventus were said to have reached an agreement over the transfer fee, everything was considered done.
However, AS claims that the clubs haven’t agreed about who would pay Raiola’s commission, which is nothing less than €25m. That’s why the Italian agent called the medical off.
AS even mentions the doctor’s name, Italo Linfante, who works at the Miami Cardic and Vascular Institute.
The doctor was reportedly spending his vacations in Europe, and despite having agreed to be back in Miami only to take care of Pogba’s medical, Raiola told him that the trip wasn’t needed anymore.
AS takes information from the Italian press to say that Raiola is back in Turin to negotiate further.
The website says that Juve are in a hurry to sell Pogba now, since they’ve just bought Gonzalo Higuain for €94.7m. This situation would be good for Real Madrid, although they don’t explain the reason for it, but that’s something you could expect from AS.
They claim that Pogba would only leave Juve for a significant pay rise or to be trained by Zidane. But the reasons for Real Madrid not to sign him is because they don’t want to offer bigger wages than those earned by Gareth Bale or Cristiano Ronaldo. The option of not entering the auction would also be because the club don’t want to pay Raiola’s commission, as if they knew about it before Manchester United did.
Given all the excuses being thrown around in Madrid, it’s a big question if this medical was real or if it was a twist of something, in an attempt to make it look like Manchester United’s efforts are collapsing.
Interestingly, some Manchester United fans found Italo Linfante, a doctor in Miami, on Twitter.
@MindThe_Agapism @forevruntd they are not talking about me, maybe another Dr Linfante?

He’s got no idea about any of it. Maybe there is more than one Italo Linfante working as a doctor in Miami. Who works at the Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute. Maybe.
