Eduardo Bove’s AS Roma exit took place rather abruptly in the summer transfer window, with the club very much edging him towards the exit.
He ended up at Fiorentina, but Nottingham Forest were also an interested party. The move never materialised, and the same can be said for an attempt from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Bove has made three appearances for Fiorentina in Serie A, and has now spoken to Corriere dello Sport about his decision to join La Viola.
“I define it as a choice of the heart, because it comes from the project that the Viola managers proposed to me and from the warmth that I felt when they presented it to me that immediately encouraged me to say yes.”
He also went on to suggest that Fiorentina fans have made him feel wanted since he joined and that means a lot to him.
“In addition, the Florentines immediately made me feel at home and that is not a secondary thing for someone like me who was leaving Rome for the first time.”
At the time of Nottingham Forest and Eintracht Frankfurt being rejected, it was insisted that Bove wanted to remain at Roma. He didn’t want a permanent transfer or a loan which could turn into one.
He’s got the latter at Fiorentina, but perhaps the key was being able to stay in Italian football.
