Things have just got serious in Chile.
National hero Alexis Sanchez could finally be moving from Arsenal.
On Monday, newspaper El Mercúrio was already teasing with the possibility of Sanchez signing for Bayern Munich, in a story where they made it clear they think he’s too good for Arsenal.
And today, Sanchez is El Mercurio’s sports section front page, with claims that he’s close to joining the German side.
According to the newspaper, the attacker’s agent Fernando Felicevich is currently in Munich as he listens to what Bayern are willing to offer.
The agent is in the city for Arturo Vidal’s birthday party as well, with the midfielder also his client. Vidal is said to have a huge part in all of this, and he’s reportedly made many efforts to convince Bayern’s board to make the signing.
Regarding the talks, El Mercurio says the Bundesliga champions would be bidding $65m (£50m) for the transfer and a offering salary of $14.5m (£11.1m) per season to the player, which is said to be 60% more than what he earns in London.
It’s claimed that the figures are ‘very attractive’ for Arsenal, and Sanchez would be satisfied with the offer, which only makes the transfer sound more likely.
Bayern, in turn, would be planning to make some big signings in order to be stronger for European football next season.
El Mercurio also writes that Pep Guardiola would like to count on the player for next season, but even though Manchester City have enough resources to make the signing, this possibility is still unlikely.
As far as El Mercurio are concerned, Bayern Munich are close to signing Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.
